Bubbles

Hi everyone, Happy New Year,

Is it wrong that instead of a New Years evening out I am at home crafting and watching a girlie movie? Tonight I made another card with a super cute Pollycraft image. They are so great to work with, so glad I got them when I did.

Anyway here she is;

Dinomite

Hello and how are you?

We all had a quiet day today. I finally got to do some tidying in the craft room so I can now see white space on my desktop. Whoops it was a bit out of hand with the Christmas rush. I fit in some crafty time at the end as a reward so I finished off this little guy. He is adorable!

Here he is;

The green colouring is not my usual but I quite like it. I was inspired by Graph it markers challenge to try a new colour. The layout was inspired by the Mojo Monday Sketch 325. I think it worked out well. What do you think?

Bicycle

Hi,

I hope you are relaxed after your Christmas break.  I had a lovely couple of day's off but I'm back to work tomorrow.  I wanted to get some crafting in today but I got distracted by new lego to build.  Still fun though.  I did manage a little time when the kids went to bed.  I am trying to do a bit of CAS, I find it tricky but challenging.

Here is today's effort;

I have used a Hot Off The Press stamp and an Echo Park scrap with Bazzil Swiss Dots card stock.

I am entering this card in the following challenges;
Less is More using wk 133 - Round and Round

Stay safe

Hi again,

I won a beautiful stamp set from the very generous Kristy at Some Odd Girl Stamps a little while ago. I got so into Christmas cards that she sat there patiently waiting for me.  Finally I got to use her and oh how fun she was. I actually managed to use every piece of the set.

So here she is;
Geisha Kaylee Stamp Set by Some Odd Girl
Echo Park Love Story paper
Coloured with Finecolour and Promarkers

I am pleased with how the embossed background turned out and I love the simplicity of it, I tried to flower it up but it just wouldn't let me.

I am entering this card in the following challenges;

Teacher's Gifts

Hi there,

This week has been a busy one. It was the last week of the school year so a lot happened.  First up my daughter received the 'Endeavor' award for her class at the Book Prize Assembly. It was meant to be a secret but she guessed when she saw Dad walk in to the assembly. Super proud!
For the rest of the week I was busy at work or after school activities but I did manage to fit in some crafting.  I made the kids teachers nice 'have a break' gifts.  I thought I would post them just in case anyone was interested.
Here they are;

I hope you like them, I thought they were pretty cute.  The images are by Pollycraft and the papers are Echo Park scraps.  I have gold embossed 'THANKS' on them if you can't quite see.

I have got to get back to Christmas prep now, I hope yours is going well.
Nic.

Hi there,

I felt like a bit of a change from my Christmas makes so I went for a vintage style. This stamp is a Cardmaking and Papercraft freebie that have been sitting on my desk just waiting for a play. Gold

Hello there,

Today's card is a combination of a few challenges. I love when I can do that, it makes the decisions so much easier. I have gone for a Clean and Simple design of only gold and white and I managed to get a Christmas card done at the same time. Win, win.

Here it is;

I have used a sketch from Sketch Saturday. The smaller panels are stamps from a magazine freebie that I have stamped and gold embossed. The embossing folder used is from Couture Creations. Then it was just topped off with some simple gem strips. I hope you like this simple but shimmery design.

The challenges I am entering are;
Sketch Saturday Week #287
Daring Cardmakers Going for Gold
Less is More Sparkle
Crafty Cardmakers #105 Clean and Simple

Hi again, I hope your day is as lovely as mine is,

Elf Kaylee has hit my crafting desk again. This time she is traditional with the red, green and gold. She is still so super cute, can't get enough of her. I think it's the hair that I love, oh and the stripes. Love the stripes, so many possibilities.

Enough rambling, here she is;

Cricket

Hi there,

Today I have a card I made for my brothers birthday. I have used the cricket player stamp from Lili of the Valley as he has always played cricket, however part way through making it I realised that now that he is a Dad he doesn't really have the time. I hope it is not rubbing salt into a wound. Oh we'll I'm sure he will love it.

Here he is;

I have gone with an easel fold card as I wanted him to look like he was standing ready to bat. I hope you like him.

White

Hi everyone,

Today I got another Christmas card done. Ribbon Girl had a white challenge going on so I decided to use it for another Christmas make. It was a quick and simple card but I used some techniques I have been neglecting. I forgot how much fun embossing is, both wet and dry. Simple but effective.

Here is my card;

I wish to enter this card in the Ribbon Girl White Challenge and Penny's Challenge no. 154 Anything Goes.

I hope you like it, thanks for the visit.

Hello again,

I got a little bit more of my Christmas Crafting done today thanks to some challenges.  They really get me crafting.  I have definitely gotten the challenge bug, I love them.

Today I am using Elf Kaylee again, she is so striking, I love her.  I will be using her a lot this Christmas.  She is so easy to use and so spunky.  I have also included a matching box which I am sure I can use this Chrissy.

Here are my two projects for today;

Springtime

Hi folks, what a lovely day.

I had a great weekend. I won a challenge, it was a random draw but I don't care, I'm totally stoked. Then I played in a Volleyball comp for our centre and we finished 2nd which meant we got a small cash prize. Good feelings all around.

Today's card uses a pretty Saturated Canary image called The Seasons, Springtime and the layout is based on the current Saturated Canary Sketch Challenge.

LOTV Sparkle

Hi how are you,

It's very hot today so I am just chill'n on the couch after a long day at work, watching a movie.
Today's post is of a card for my sister in law (a different one from before) using a Lili of the Valley stamp. I added plenty of sparkle to her, not the best photo though, sorry. All the flowers have Stickles on them as well as her hat and clothes. I love sparkle but I do think that too much can wreck the creation. I hope there is enough for you.  She has also been paper pieced onto the swing to 3d her a bit.

Here she is;
LOTV image and sentiment
Echo Park Spring papers
Coloured with Promarkers
Bosskut flower die
Crealies flourish die

The photo really does not give it justice, the sparkles don't stand out as well as I would have liked and she doesn't quite pop off the page like she did on my desk so the paper piecing does not show up as well as I would have liked. I hope you like it anyway.

I wish to enter this card in the Ribbon Girl Lovely Lili Challenge.

Cheers Nic

Thank you so much

Hi again.

Yay me, I managed two posts today. I really wanted to get this card done and entered in some challenges while I still had some creative juices flowing. This card was made for my daughters teacher as it is nearly the end of the school year. She is such a wonderful teacher and was just what Jas needed. I wanted this to be special as she really deserves it.

Here it is;

I wish to enter this card in the following challenges;

Sister Act - Anything Goes
Daring Card Makers - not Christmas or Birthday
Love to Scrap - Anything Goes

I hope you like it.

Hoot of a Birthday

Hi there,

Today's post is for the Desert Island Crafts Challenge. I love how they have an itinerary to follow. This particular one was quite challenging at first but then at the last minute I had a brain rush and I managed to whip up this tag. This is my first proper tag I have made and it was a 'hoot' to make.

I also want to team my tag up with the Crafty Cardmakers Paper Piecing Challenge. They also post great challenges that make you try new things.

Here it is;
Stamp, magazine freebie
Quick cuts star die
Platinum Stickles
Spellbinder Blossom Nesties
Echo Park Dots and Stripes Christmas Paper

I am entering this tag into DICC #65 and I have used no.3 owl, no.4 tree ( a branch of one), no.5 stars, no.6 don't be square and no.7 sparkle.

I also wish to enter my tag in the CraftyCardmakers Paper Piecing Challenge #104. I have paper pieced the wings, part of the body, the nose and the eyelids.

Thanks for dropping by, I hope you like it.
Cheers Nic

Elf Kaylee, blue style

Hi everyone,

I am so glad the working week is over. I was lucky enough to have a short day today so after school pick up I got to do some crafting, yay!  Today's card is using the super cute and versatile 'Elf Kaylee' from Some Odd Girl. I will be using her a lot this Christmas Season as I find it difficult to get Christmas images that aren't wintery. Whilst I love the wintery images they don't really suit the hot Christmas of Australia, so when I find an image suitable for an Aussie Christmas I use it as much as I can.

Well here she is;

Image is Elf Kaylee by SOG
Coloured with Promarkers
American Crafts Knock Out Edger Punch
Quick Cuts Gingerbread Dies
Papers are Echo Park Dots and Stripes Christmas
Baby Blue and Diamond Stickles

These colours aren't really traditional Christmas colours (I did use a Christmas paper pad though) but I really love using alternative Christmas colours to keep my cards modern looking. I hope you like the colour combo I used. It is from the November Colour Combination Challenge at Daring Card Makers. I am entering this card in their challenge, I hope you like it.

'Alter It'

Hi lovely people,

When I saw the latest challenge from Saturated Canary I was excited but I wasn't sure what I could do. Then I got a sample shampoo set in the mail and the idea hit. I decided to alter the little box so my daughter could have a place to put her earrings. We keep misplacing them, so it will be helpful for me too. She loves Saturated Canary images and she gets so excited when she looks at the flowers etc in my craft room, so this should go down well.

Here is my project;

The image is 'Canary Love' by Saturated Canary

Papers and epoxy sticker are from Kathy Davis

Hi folks,

So I would like to thank the Graph It Markers Challenge for getting me going. I am entering this card in the 'Alternative Christmas Colours' Challenge. I was experimenting with two new sets of promarkers when I coloured this gorgeous SOG Elf so it fit perfectly with the theme.

'Spell on Ya'

Hi there,

This is my first time I am entering a card making challenge.  I am a little nervous but I shouldn't be as the winners are chosen at random.  I guess it's just that this is the first time I have put my cards out there in public.  My family love them and well I guess I am pretty proud of my creations but I have seen some of the cards out there in blogland that are so amazing, I can't live up to those but I am happy trying.

So here is my card.  This is my Halloween style card, although we don't celebrate Halloween here in Oz too much it was fun and it got me in the spooky mood.

My very first post!

This blog is purely for my benefit to share some of my card creations and to try and enter some challenges.  I am definitely still learning about blogging and also my card making but I am having fun doing it.
Well that is it for now as this was just a test and my kiddies are bugging me for a bike ride to the park. Bye Bye
